The Greek Life Index · Guidelines

Keep it real.
Keep it fair.

Honest perspectives make Ferda useful. Respect for the people behind every chapter makes it a community worth building.

The Ferda standard

Share your experience. Give useful context. Leave personal attacks out of it. These guidelines apply to ratings, reviews, The Row, recruitment profiles, and messages about the project.

01Speak from experience

Base feedback on your own interactions with a chapter. Be specific about what went well or what could improve, and make it clear when you are sharing an opinion.

  • Review the chapter experience, rather than ranking individual people.
  • Keep feedback relevant to the campus, chapter, and category you are reviewing.
  • Do not present rumors, secondhand stories, or invented experiences as facts.

02Respect people’s dignity

Criticism is welcome. Harassment, threats, slurs, discriminatory remarks, sexual harassment, and attacks on someone’s appearance or identity are not.

Do not encourage hazing, violence, or dangerous behavior. A score or review should never become a reason to target someone online or on campus.

03Protect personal information

Keep other people’s names, contact details, schedules, private messages, and sensitive personal information out of public feedback. Do not share someone’s photo or identifying details without permission.

For recruitment profiles, share only information you are comfortable providing. Avoid including home addresses, identification documents, or private information about anyone else.

04Keep participation honest

Use your own account and school email. Do not impersonate another student, chapter officer, university, or organization.

No spam, paid reviews, duplicate accounts used to manipulate scores, coordinated rating campaigns, or pressure on others to submit a particular rating.

05Use recruitment thoughtfully

Represent yourself accurately. Treat recruitment information with care, and do not copy, circulate, or use someone’s profile to harass them.

Ferda is an independent project. Rankings are perspectives, not official university assessments, and participation does not guarantee an invitation, bid, or membership.

06Raise concerns with context

If you spot a problem, contact the team with the campus, chapter, relevant page, and a short explanation. Share only the details needed to understand the concern.

The team may ask for more context, review the content, or consider restricting participation. If you believe a decision was mistaken, reply with your explanation so the team can reconsider.

Contact is not an emergency channel. For an immediate threat to someone’s safety, use local emergency services or campus safety resources.

07Posting on The Row

The Row is anonymous, but it is not a free-for-all. Everything above applies to posts, rankings, replies, and votes.

  • Post about organizations and events, never about individual people.
  • Only share photos or videos you took, and never of someone who hasn’t agreed to it.
  • Mogger a take that lands and Squid one that misses. Disagree with the post, not the person.
  • Posts that receive several reports are hidden until the team reviews them.
